Olympic flame safely arrived to South Korea
The Olympic flame safely arrived in a plane from Greece to South Korea on Wednesday, 1st of November, exactly 100 days ahead of the opening ceremony for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Games. The precious Olympic shipment arrived to the Incheon airport near Seoul, sealed in a special security container. The flame was carried by country's minister of culture, tourism and sports Do Jong Hwan and one of the biggest South Korean sports stars, art skater Kim Yu-Na, holder of the golden Olympic medal from Vancouver 2010 and twice world champion.
The Olympic flame will continue its journey through nine provinces and eight of the largest cities in South Korea, and will arrive at the Olympic stadium in PyeongChang during the opening ceremony on February 9th.
The Olympic torch will be carried by 7500 people across South Korea, and will travel more than 2000 kilometers by the start of the Olympic Games.
The Olympic flame was lit on October 24th in the ancient Olympia, in a special ritual with only sun rays, and then traveled over 2000 kilometers across Greece.
