Alone you go fast, together you go far!
Yesterday’s day showed us that the quote “alone you go fast, together you go far” is a true reality!
For the third year in a row, BB team has participated in Slovenian business run in Bled. Besides of the active spirit, this event was place of a great energy, support and networking. Once again, it was proven that sports brings people together.
When, more or less, two months ago we decided to run the Slovenia Business Run race, which took place yesterday (25th of May) in Bled, we didn’t realize how much work would be involved in the preparation! Of course, we had in mind that it would all start with a running plan, which went quite well, if we consider our summer workload in BIG BERRY Kolpa River, but the event ahead had reserved much more work besides the race, and we couldn't enjoy it more!
So, this is how it all began...
The morning started earlier than normal, as part of the group left from Bela Krajina, headed to Ljubljana, with the car full of beautiful brand elements (and people). After leaving Cristina in Ljubljana for some meetings and picking up Iva and Mariliza in the hostel, BB team drove to Bled where the astonishing lake was waiting for us with its island and castle.
From checklist to promotions and promotional collaboration with the business run organization (BIG BERRY gave way to the winners one voucher for one night in Kolpa River Resort), we did everything to take the BIG BERRY spirit from Kolpa River to Bled and share the joviality of the brand.
Between photo shooting sections with team members and brand elements, business meetings, visit to tour office, meeting friends, bloggers and new people; posting on social media channels and managing the time, we were somehow trying to prepare ourselves for the race, which consisted of a full turn around the lake (a bit more than 6km).
Who were the runners? Ozum, Frane and Mariliza, with Iva behind the scenes (and camera) supporting with good words and stretching tips. Mariliza was the first to run, Ozum the second and Frane the last, with the hope that he would improve the result. In the end, we were on the 37th position.
And the race started exactly at 16:16! Ow, a bunch of people representing their companies were taking part, the first section of the race had started and I was there, feeling all the possible emotions. Around the lake the landscape was truly impressive and to sum up, from kids to elderly people, there were Slovenians and tourists cheering for each one of us that was running, and some of them were even offering us water. What a beautiful sports event!
Race was truly not easy. The pathway is great, but 6km for those who are used to run 4, makes everything more complicated. For the three of us, those were the longest 6 km we have ever experienced. It certainly pushed us out of our limits and comfort zone, showing us that we are able to do much more than we can imagine.
Besides the whole experience, we as a team, also learned with Slo Business Run that sharing is caring, since this is a charitable event which is donating funds for every lap run to CUDV Matevža Langusa and we support it!
We can’t wait for the next year! Who will be the next BIG BERRY team members to run and the challenges they will face?
