Trip to Krk

There were eight of us on the day when we visited a formidable Krk island: Alice, who is Russian, but studies in Finland, Richie from England, Ivan and Iva from Croatia, Lana from Germany, Pau from Spain, Petya, who is from Bulgaria, but studies in the Netherlands, and me, Ukrainian.

In order to reach the island, you have to cross a long and impressive bridge, which shows wonderful scenery of the Adriatic Sea, mountains and adjoining cities. The viewpoint is especially beautiful at night, when the cities flicker with their bright lights.

The whole island is covered with hills, the streets are thin and curving, and houses have lovely wooden windows full of colorful flowers. It is indeed a fairytale place. There is the 5th-century Krk Cathedral, which has a marble altar and stone Corinthian columns. It was a fantastic feeling to sit on the hillside high above the sea and observe ships peacefully crossing the royal blue waters.

In the evening we caught the pleasant warm rain. My friend Alice and me were dancing under the rain and singing ‘I’m singing in the rain’. Such moments are indeed unforgettable..
