The colors and spices-filled air brought us to a place where cultures and cuisine dance in a harmony — to Skuhna. Founded as a social project where international cuisines would be the engine for public debate and space in Ljubljana. Artists, intellectuals, locals but also travelers are able to discuss issues regarding empowering and integrating immigrants from different countries who come to seek new home in Slovenia.
The very foundation of Skuhna is diverse in its nature. The owner from Zimbabwe was enchanted by Slovenia, settled in the country and found a reason to stay longer than anticipated. With his Slovenian wife they opened the restaurant year and a half ago.
“Our main aim is to raise employment opportunities of migrants and people of different cultures converge.”
According to Skuna's employees their philosophy is not to participate in “big business” but rather finding and supporting like-minded projects. On the menu you will discover a truly international blend - through chefs from India, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Morocco, and Algeria - the food could not be more diverse. Nor tastier!
