TD Vigred Metlika and the Municipality of Metlika are inviting you to the traditional 36th Wine Weekend in Bela Krajina, which will be held from next Friday, 18th, to Sunday, 20th, in the old city center of Metlika.
On Friday 18th of May, there will be a presentation of the book “Neumarkt - Möttling - Metlika: the origin and development of the city from the end of the 13th to the beginning of the 19th century” at 12:00 in the Gallery Kambič Metlika. After that, there will be the opening of the tasting cellar at 17h00. In the program, there will also be music: the accordionist David Starašinič (Metlika castle), the choir Matija Tomc (Društvo invalidov Metlika), the Oktet Janževo, and Choir of the Pensioners' Society Metlika.
At 18h30 on Friday there will also be the Opening of the culinary exhibition "From Bee to Honey Pie" by the Society of Farm Women Metlika in cooperation with the Beekeeping Society Jožef Starc Metlika followed by the awarding of the best winegrowers, the winners of wines, the best Bela Krajina cake and the crowning of the queen.
