Hrast Pri Vinici Bauxite deposit

In the vicinity of the village Hrast pri Vinici you can visit one of the biggest and surface-wise one of the most beautiful bauxite deposits in Slovenia. Bauxite has been shaping for millions of years, which makes it a very important geologic natural heritage. Bauxite layers are located by the village water hole Krivača and in the nearby narrow pass of the road. Here bauxite is covered by and mixed with humus. Heaps of artificially accumulated material are the result of experimental mining.
