Slovenska Hiša - A House Full of Tradition
As already mentioned, Slovenia will present itself at the Slovenian House next year in the Pyongyang at the Winter Olympics, which are traditionally held by the participating countries for promotion.
In these days at the port of Koper, two containers with content for the house are filled and ready to depart on the next Wednesday. The first details are also known.
According to Peter Dokl, who is in charge of the House project by Olympic Committee of Slovenia, as much as 20 tons of equipment and food will travel to Asia. "The house was built by the company Hosekra from Slovenska Bistrica, a professional kitchen was composed of several Slovenian producers, and the food will also be Slovene. Success will be celebrated with Radgona sparkling wine and traditional Slovenian food, for example, jota, žganci and similar, which will be provided by the Jezeršek catering", said Dokl.
According to him, in the house will be everything Slovenian, with an exception of fresh foods such as milk, eggs, fruits and the like, as this would not last a month and a half of a long way across Singapore to Busan. The content has not yet been finalized, but an event with the World Federation of the Olympians is agreed, where active athletes and those who have already entered a career will be invited. About other contents, OCS still discusses and publicly announces that an important place in Korea will also take a bone flute from Divje babe, which is equal to the oldest ever found musical instrument in the world. It is a sensational archaeological finding, a 60,000 year old instrument made from the feminine cave bear.
The Slovenian House is primarily intended for the presentation of the Slovenian economy and tourism during the games in Pyongyang, and the Slovenian camp will also take advantage of the common space for socializing and celebrating at the medals. The main partner of OCS in the project is Kolektor from Idrija, which has the only Slovenian factory in Korea. Slovenia was presented with such a project in 2010 at the games in Vancouver, and this year, at Alpensia ski center, around 30 companies from the sunny side of the Alps will take part.
