Olympians From Črna Welcomed Slovenian Torch

Slovenian torch, which has been traveling from Slovenia since 9 January, arrived 2 days ago in Črna na Koroškem, as the last stop before returning to the capital. Many sports enthusiasts, as well as participants of the past Olympic Games, were expected in Črna. Athletes Tomaž Razingar, Štefan Robač, Drago Pudgar, Nataša Lačen and Aleš Gorza awaited the torch in Ćrna and shared their memories of the sports journey with the gathered sports enthusiasts.

 Slovenian torch, traveling through Slovenia before the start of the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, was carried by the former hockey player and captain of the hockey team in Sochi 2014 Tomaž Razingar among numerous sports enthusiasts in Črna. Baklo was first given to the mayors of the Municipality of Črna na Koroškem by Romani Lesjak. Among them were three of the seven Olympians, namely ski jumper Drago Pudgar, skier Natasa Lačen and alpine skier Aleš Gorza.

The absence of the obligation was justified by the former Montenegrin Olympians Danilo Pudgar, Katjuša Pušnik and Mitja Kunc. Tina Maze, the most successful Slovenian alpine skier and winner of four Olympic medals, is also the most celebrated woman, but her speech was broadcast to the audience through a video clip.

The oldest Olympian from Črna, 87-year-old Štefan Robač brought the torch to the event, who competed in the cross-country skiing at the Olympic Games in Cortina d'Ampezzo in 1956 for Yugoslavian national team. On stage in front of the cultural center many of today's torch holders shared with many gathered memories of their sporting path, while athletes who leave for the upcoming Olympic Games have all wished many successes and happiness.

Slovenian torch is a project initiated by the Olympic Committee of Slovenia - Association of Sports Federations. Following the example of the Olympic torch traveling around the world before the start of the Olympic Games, on 9 January, Slovenian torch on the way from Ljubljana visited Mojstrana, Jesenice, Tržič, Celje, Velenje and Maribor. The tour will end at the Ljubljana castle, where it will be a solemn presentation of the Olympians who will represent Slovenia at the games in Pyongyang between 9th and 25th February.
