Slovenian Olympic Representation Presented In Ljubljana
Yesterday at Grand Hotel Union, the Olympic representation of Slovenia was presented to the public, the athletes which will represent the country at the upcoming Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.
At the presentation, the head of the Slovenian expedition and the director of the Ski Association of Slovenia, Franci Petek was missing. He has problems with the knee, but at the Olympic Committee of Slovenia they hope that on Friday he will still be able to travel to South Korea.
For the first time in the history of Slovenia, Facebook followers have also chosen the flagrant for the opening ceremony, which will take place on February 9th in PyeongChang. Ski jumper Vesna Fabjan, who was chosen by the fans of the Facebook page will have the honour to carry the Slovenian flag. According to the unofficial data, she received 404 votes, while hockey player Mitja Robar was given 398 votes.
Vesna was more than happy about the results. The winner of the bronze medal in the sprint at the last winter Olympic Games in Sochi, said: "I know that there was a tough outcome in the vote. It's a very responsible function, as you are the first to represent the Olympic team, so it will probably be a little stressful”.
