Slovenska Hiša in PyeongChang - center of sport and business

At the Olympic Games in South Korea, Slovenia will have strong representation not only in sports, but also in the economic and tourist sector. For that purpose the project of the Slovenska Hiša is being prepared to be hosted at the Winter Olympics, which was presented on Friday, 10/11/2017 in Ljubljana.

At the presentation of the upcoming project at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, representatives of the Slovenian Olympic Committee said they slightly regret that project Slovenska Hiša was not presented at last Winter Games in Sochi, because it would probably be a big success. Winning eight medals was a great opportunity for celebration, but they hope that they will make up for it in February 2018, when this Slovenian project will come to life in Pyongyang.

Blaž Perko, person responsable for finance and marketing at Slovenian Olympic Comitee, stated that the main purpose of this project is socializing. Athletes, sportsmen and businessmen will gather and socialize in the house and they will also take care of the Slovenian fans if they want to feel the touch of home in far country of Korea.

Peter Dokl, a former Olympic player, now serving as the head of the project, is now in the second of four steps of preparing the project. Next week, two containers with equipment will be shipped, one with the food and other will be the construction of the house. For now, around 30 Slovenian companies have decided to participate in various ways. In a few days it will be decided on the participation of those who want to be presented at the games.

"We wanted for the house to represent Slovenia, our environment and hospitality. It is intended primarily for athletes and celebration, not just for winning the medals, also for the support. Also, the events such as press conferences and receptions, as well as the events of our partners are planned. We are trying to make this house an excellent platform for carrying out such events. We offer an environment for the organization and regarding all the contacts we are asking the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and the Slovenian Tourist Board. This will be something special for all businessmen who are happy to say that they are part of this event, "said Dokl.
