The Museum of Bucovina in Suceava, Romania, is a candidate for this year’s DASA Award of the European Museum Academy. The Museum of Bucovina encompasses several museums, such as the Bucovina Village Museum, the Fortress of Suceava and the History Museum. The DASA Award was launched in 2010 and it is given for museums that provide excellence in learning opportunities.
The application for the DASA Award was focused on the Fortress of Suceava that was built in the 14th century. It has become an important tourist attraction with its interactive exhibition display, educational programs, cultural events and multimedia systems on medieval history topics. The winner of the award will be announced in September in Aarhus, Denmark.
