Spanish tenor Plácido Domingo, the 76-year-old known as the"king of opera", will perform a concert of arias by Guiseppe Verdi and other famous composers.
During the concert, he will be singing the duets from La Traviata and Il trovatore, along with two young sopranists, and continue the programme with his personal selection of arias. The second part of the concert will include excerpts from Spanish zarzuel, Latin crossover songs... and a surprise.
Apart from being one of the best and most influential opera singers in history, Domingo is the conductor and artistic director of the famous LA Opera in Los Angeles. His repertoire includes record-breaking 147 roles, which is the highest number achieved among tenors.
Plácido Domingo is a recipient of Honorary PhD degrees at Oxford and New York Universities. He received both awards for his long-standing commitment and contribution to musical art.
