During the summer, the Volksgarten is alive with culture. A variety-filled program takes place there on four weekends. Primarily aimed at younger people, and with free admission. Events include films, DJs & concerts, workshops, readings, poetry slams, canoe polo, SUP and more.
19 – 22 July
The theme of the first weekend is “feel good”, drawing visitors with picnic action, a summer cinema including the film “Ein Mann namens Ove”, an arts & crafts market, along with DJs from FM4.
26 – 29 July
In the second week, the “surf & turf” weekend will feature a songwriter workshop, a vintage market, while Jay Cooper and Muddy Confusion will be rocking the Volksgarten.
02 – 05 August
In the third week, it will be HipHop fans that are in for a treat: There’ll be graffiti and breakdance workshops, a DJ battle, plus a “Democracy Battle” in the form of a breakdance competition. The highlight of this week will be a concert by “Scheibsta & die Buben” on Saturday, 5 August beginning at 7 p.m.
09 – 12 August
Things then continue with the “Vintage Circus” week: This week will be ruled by Swing, both musically and culinarily. And a retro picnic invites you to take an excursion back to the Roaring 20s.
