Bela krajina is part of the green tourism scheme of Slovenia

According to the growing trend of Green Tourism the Slovenien Tourist Board actively orients national tourism on green economy and is committed to ensure that all their activities are green and sustainable. The preservation of forests, water, the sea and other natural assets are hereby important. The STB seeks to create incentives for destinations to establish models of sustainable development based on standard indicators. In doing so, the board awards "Slovenia Green" certificates for service providers and destinations. 

Bela krajina is currently in the process of obtaining of assessment in order to receive the Slovenie Green Destination certificate. To present the concept of green tourism and raise awareness among service providers and tourists, there will be a workshop on 1.June 2016 at 3pm in the Cultural Centre of Semič. The first part of the workshop will cover information about the process of obtaining a certificate or sign of quality, what can be certified and the usage of the crtificate. For more details, there will be representatives of companies GOODPLACE. The second part of the workshop presents joint projects which are carried out in the area of Bela krajina.
