Luxury of freedom

BIG BERRY PEOPLE

Meet Mia Matič, our freedom defender and art designer

Our seventh fashion and textile design student from the department of Textiles, Graphic Arts and Design of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering - University of Ljubljana is Mia Matič, freedom lover and inspired young designer, from the Slovenian capital city. We spend some amazing days with her here in BIG BERRY Kolpa River.

Mia is a 23 years-old textile and fashion designer. She has always been passionate by any kinds of art in general. She has found in designing a real way to express herself. At first, she studied history of arts but it wasn’t really for her. Then, Mia changed for textile design. She felt more free to express her opinions and thoughts than sitting down on a chair all day.

Dynamism and illustrations are the main components of her creating and designing process. It allows her to connect her passion for art and design. On the most recent project she was working on, she created with her colleagues a sort of calendar for the National Gallery of Ljubljana in honour of the brave and inspiring painter Ivana Kobilca, pioneer of realism. A great opportunity for Mia to strengthen her love for art and design.

Art and design are her way to be free and express herself, to be happy and to try new things! As she says, she will try to change the world just a little bit through that!

Her stay here in BIG BERRY was the perfect connection between designing and being free! We are glad for greeting this talented designer.
